So many characters are introduced in the opening of the novel but we find out very little about them. Who were the mean girls, what did they do? Why did they do it? Who did they hurt and how? It raises so many questions and promises to answer them with well written, detailed prose that creates the perfect air of mystery by swapping between the past and present. This is one of the best ways of allowing a reader to piece together the clues themselves to discover the truth of the mystery. I can't wait to read more and find out what terrible things happened in the past and what consequences those responsible will face in the present!
