The Girls Are All So Nice Here is aptly described as a psychological thriller, it pulls you in with strong character portrayals - to the point you can very easily picture the characters being real people.

I wasn't personally a fan of the alternating chapters focusing on different periods of Ambrosia's life, but it was well written and definitely a book that will stay with you even after you've finished it.

The ending was surprising and definitely a twist I didn't see coming, and I enjoyed Flynn's ability to write about graphic details during the flashback scenes - though I do think it needs mentioning that the book has a large number of triggering scenes and topics, so it would've been nice to see some warning of that prior to starting it.

These subjects didn't bother me personally, and it was actually probably one of the book's strengths: the unapologetic delve into some of the gritter and harsher aspects of life.

Overall, it was a good read. I'd probably recommend it to friends but I'd let them know that it can be a mentally tough read at times.
