The Girls Are All So Nice Here is a slow burn thriller surrounding a couple of teenage girls and their All encompassing friendship. It goes back and forth between the past and present with hints at terrible things happening in the past.
I would say the first half of this book was riveting and kept me gripped. Meeting the characters for the first time and following their day to day lives whilst also seeing them in the present day trying to hide from their past, made for a compelling read. The second half however when the truth starts to reveal itself was a let down. It felt like the author was building up to something huge for it then to be very anti climatic. The twist and the ending dissapointed me greatly and knocked the book from a 4 star to a 3 star.
The characters were well fleshed out and I felt connected to the main characters even the one I hated.
All in all a quick read that I would recommend if you are into slow building slow paced thrillers.
