I really enjoyed this! The writing style is beautiful, but accessible and the main character Ambrosia seems to be extremely relatable to a young modern audience. I simply cannot wait until the book comes out to read the whole thing! The plot is also a particularly interesting idea, and the immediate exploration of what it means to be a modern woman (the emails from Sephora right next to the ovulation reminder) subtly introduces the reader to the female experience without feeling preachy or overbearing. Ambrosia’s attitude towards everything seems to be very relatable and I would definitely recommend this book to a friend— especially if they like contemporary fiction with strong female leads! I am very intrigued to see where the story goes and how Ambrosia fits in at Wesleyan University, as well as how other women perceive her and themselves! Overall I loved this excerpt and can’t wait for the full book!
