I am hesitant to say that this book is this authors best book, mainly because it is clear how influenced it has been by their own experiences. I don't want to push the narrative that the art that someone makes through trauma makes it all worth while, because I would much rather horrible things didn't happen to people than they did and they got inspiration from those things. That being said, both of Hoangs previous works were just a superb so whilst this is her most raw and emotional novel in my opinion, without out those elements I think I would have enjoyed it just as much. And, quite possibly, found it easier to read in parts.
All this being said, I loved the growth that occurred in this book, once again the characters are brilliant and lovable and I love how we see cameos of the other characters from previous books. I also think the pacing is great and I love the secondary plot lines we get as it definitely gives the story more dimension.
Basically I cannot sing enough praises for this book and the authors other works and I can see this author becoming an autobuy author for me.
