I’m slightly upset I’ve finished Helen Hoang’s books. I connected to Anna on a personal level, maybe not entirely, but definitely about the fact that she had so much pressure on her from her large and pushy family. Quan and Anna were really cute together and I loved how we saw all of the threads being pulled together when Michael and Quan got the deal for their company to join LVMH. It was adorable to see and hear about Michael and Stella as well as Khai and Esme through Quan. It was also really heartbreaking to read about the conflict that Anna felt with her dad, as I feel it’s an issue that is genuine and could 100% happen in real life, in fact it probably does happen often in real life. I could even relate to doing things in circles and trying to be perfect as it’s so common. I surprisingly enjoyed this book a fair amount even though it was more based on Anna battling her family’s expectations with her autism instead of the all consuming love (which i’m usually a fan of). The ending where her mum accepts her was just absolutely fantastic (yes, i’m running out of adjectives). 😭😭❤️❤️ Overall, Helen Hoang, you’ve done it again…!
