I am a huge fan of Katerina Diamond, and have read and re-read her series including The Secret, The Teacher etc. I was therefore hugely excited to read The Heatwave, but it felt so so different to her other books, almost as if it was written by someone else.
I decided to persevere and read the whole book. The characters were well thought out and the mysterious lodger did get me intrigued! It did improve slightly as it went on, but there was quite an obvious twist around 3/4 the way throught.
It wasn't a bad read, but compared to her other books it was deeply disappointing. The ending also seemed a bit unbelievable. Maybe Im just disappointed because her other books blew me away, whereas this one just seemed to drag. Hoping future Katerina Diamond books live up to my previous expectations!
