The detail in the writing transports you right in the middle of Elizabethan London. With religious heretics, conspiring whispers and rumours at every corner. Beginning with a supposed traitors execution and then going into the questioning of another supposed traitor I was eager to read on and find out the real story. Cleverly written dialogue, descriptive scene setting and well placed hints make this a very intriguing read.
