The writing style is very wordy which isn't really my cup of tea, so I couldn't really get into it. A slow start too. I'm not a fan of slow starts, if it doesn't grip me from the start, I struggle to persist with it. It didn't really entice me to keep reading. It's a shame because it sounded right up my street. I may give it another go at some point, to see if I can push past the writing style. I think I was also at a disadvantage because I hadn't read any others in the series. I liked the cover though. Very interesting and mysterious. The colours were great too, very eye catching. I would have liked to be hit with mystery right from the beginning, but that wasn't the case. I'm not saying it's a bad book. I think it's probably a really good book, I just couldn't get into it. I wish I had more to say about it, but I really didn't get that far into the book. Honestly, if the start would have been more gripping I would have carried on, but I found it boring.
