The book opens with the now standard it seems cryptic prologue and then to the arrival at an old house by Nell, Chris and his daughter, Maude. There's a suggestion of a recent event concerning Maude meaning her parents are very protective of her. The atmosphere of the house is a bit spooky, something that in particular Nell senses. It seems quite well written but I'm not sure it's going to offer anything very different.
