Honestly, I don't know where to begin. I liked the writing style, and the suspense. A very slow burn. I loved how atmospheric it was, Mason knows how to set a scene. However, I feel like there were multiple details in the book that simply didn't need to be there. That if they were taken out, it would have been exactly the same book. I thought there was going to be more elements to the spookiness than just footsteps and doors rattling to be honest. But most of all, I have no idea how it ended. I've reread the ending several times and still don't know what Nell chose to do. I have several theories, but I don't think you could take a definite answer from the obscurity of the ending. Which is great if you want to keep your readers guessing but for such a slow burn I feel like I deserve a more tangible answer. I need it all wrapped up with a bow on top. It's a good read, albeit a confusing one.
