A Haunting ghost story at its very best. This was so atmospheric I was drawn into this intriguing lane of houses from the second the gate was opened. The characters were believable with all their imperfections. Behind their seemingly normal lives are fragile lives that have many cracks. When a family return for a holiday to the childhood village they stay in a refurbished ancient house. With talk of mystery child deaths and superstitions there was always going to be more to the house at the end of the lane than first appearances. This is a modern ghost story with mobile phones and all the frustrations of phone chargers and broken screens mixed with drying grounds and superstitions. A wonderful book cover that gives nothing away on first glance but after reading the book look at the cover again. All areas of the book are here for the eye to see. Perfect
