‘It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend’ 💔

Seven days. Three families. One killer. Four women have been best friends for as long as they can remember, all taking a holidays together in the south of France. A dream right? But Kate has a secret: her husband is having an affair and she thinks one of her besties knows more. 🔪

This was such a disappointing read for me. I’d been so looking forward to this book due to reviews I’d read and the book description. First of all, so slow and repetitive for 3/4 of the book. It took me a lot of effort to pick this book up. 🐢

I really dislike books where the narrator spends the majority of the book asking herself the same questions over and over without actually progressing. In reality, most would just ask their husbands what’s up? 😤

Then, just when you’re feeling most frustrated. The last 1/4 of the book - sh*t hits the fan. But it all seems completely unrelated to the whole story line we just built up? I enjoyed the stuff happened and finished that last bit in one sitting - but why was that not the whole book rather than the ending? ⁉️

No spoilers but basically if your reading this book for the murder part mentioned in the description - don’t. Very predictable drama but also unbelievable for this set of characters. Also, because of how detached I felt from the characters, I didn’t care? Everyone’s stories - including the kids - were so everywhere! So many ideas just throw in and wasted. 💡

For me it was a stale and dragged out book. I have this authors other book ‘The Catch’ but I’ve put off reading it for now. Let me know if you think it’s a better read! 🙏🏻
