Four friends from university days are meeting up in France for a week's holiday. It is to celebrate their fortieth birthdays and husbands and children are also included. Rowan has got the use of a luxurious villa and it promises to be an amazing week. It starts to go wrong immediately. Kate is convinced her husband is having an affair with one of her friends, Rowan's husband suspects her of having an affair and Jennifer is constantly watching and protecting her teenage sons. There are several twists in the story as suspicion falls on each friend in turn. Kate's daughter and the two boys also have secrets. This is a really good read which keeps the reader guessing right to the end. A good holiday read.
