I was initially looking forward to this book I normally love books like this, a woman's journey in a puritan male world wanting to rebel against gender expectations. However, I thought it was slow and the language was rather dull, it was a struggle to get through which disappointed me as I have read books that are similar to this book, but this one just didn't do it for me unfortunately. As I read on I became less interested in what happened to Ursula. When parts of the book are written in the form of a play, particularly when the characters play other characters was confusing and I had to keep doubling back to remember who was who. But I acknowledge that the author was doing something different, it was a good idea but it just wasn't for me.
