Having read S.T.A.G.S its sequel D.O.G.S I honelty thought I would love the book because of what I have read from M.A Bennet before. However that was not the case. The book follows Link a 16-year-old American boy who has relocated to the UK with his parents after they're offered lecturing posts at the University of Oxford. Back in the U.S. he received home schooling so now when his parents enrol him at the prestigious local private school Osney, he is more than a very anxious. He immediately attracts the attention of the bullies because he is really slow at running and the school is all about running due to it depending on how athletic the children are. When he is offered the chance to go on a summer school trip, spending extra time with people who either mistreat or ignore him is certainly not something Link wants to put himself through. Then the plane crash comes and suddenly they are stuck on an island. The island changes the everyone and Link especially who becomes kind of creepy with how obsessed he is with wanting revenge for years of torture.
In some ways I enjoyed the book and in some ways I did not. The plot was kind of complicated to keep up with but I did like the epilogue which brings out a twist. I was also amazed by the character development, for example, Link who at first seemed nice but then turned in to horrible person.
