The Island was a rather interesting read, it reminded me of Lord of The Flies but was unusually interesting.

The plot was definitely the most intriguing part with the main character’s and his peers being left on this island alone. The enigma was one of the reasons what kept me hooked and turning page after page, although maybe it’s my age but there were quite a few old style inter textual references that I felt I didn’t understand, but honestly it made the book all that more entertaining.

I’d say the writing style is very captivating and interesting, just when you think you’ve reached a point where you can stop a massive plot twist or a tense enigma is thrown at you (probably why I read it in less than two days).

It’s a novel you either really like or really dislike, I don’t think there’s an in between with how niche of a style and occasionally cliche (which some people love i.e. myself).
