Absolutely amazing! I used the map at the start of the book to follow the main character's movements! I love this sort of story, action, action, action. The main charcacter has a really tough time. It’s hard to imagine how they carried on. The story keeps you guessing all the way through. The hardships challenge the reader to continue to the end of the story as the constant, persistence of the following army push you on. Ancient Rome sounds truly horendous, not a place I’d like to live- all levels of society are represented in this book. It gives you a real feel for life back then. This book is full of intrigue, horrendous horrors and the best of the human spirit. You just wont be able to put it down.
