As a fan of Minette Walters, I was interested to read this extract from her new historical novel, introducing me to a new genre from this exciting & interesting author. I was not disappointed. Walters’ sentences are sharp & to the point and immediately draw the reader into the world of a family, living in England, at the time of the Black Death. It’s as though we are witnesses to the events of the time & each sentence, each paragraph, wants us asking for more.
The newspaper extracts which readers of Walters will be familiar with from previous books have been replaced by the thoughts & observations of a diary, giving the reader a further insight into one of the book’s main characters. Fab!
