I didn't enjoy this story much. The problem is I'm not really sure why. I just found it to be slow. It didn't draw me in. Sometimes a story can take a little perseverance. Get through the introductions and the slow build up and bam! Unfortunately I didn't find that with this book. That isn't to say it was bad by any means. It just wasn't really my cup of tea. I didn't find it gripping enough which was very upsetting as the story line sounded amazing to me. I think I was expecting dark and mysterious with twists and turns. A lot more gritty than it was and maybe that was my problem. Getting too excited and ahead of myself before even having the book in the first place. I will try again with a different book in this author's collection some day.
