This is a beautifully written story, told in three parts, some in prose and some in poetry. The characters are easy to get to know and follow their journeys.
The subject is intense, but the way it has been written made it accessible rather than alienating. A very quick read as I just needed to know what was to happen.
The wonderful story telling is enhanced by the thought inspiring illustrations; they say a picture speaks a thousand words, well that is certainly the case here.
The ending was a little predictable, but then I didn't want it to end any other way as it would have been very unsatisfying.
I love the inclusion of the origami crane instructions and origami paper too, this book really provides a full experience.
I would recommend this book to everyone, it ensures the horrors of Hiroshima does not get forgotten which is even more poignant in our current climate. Amazing, five stars
