The cover instantly sets you up for how the book reads, from the outset you have a cold dark sense of dread. I don't read an awful lot of thrillers but this grabbed my attention because of the (to me) unique setting. The isolation, dark and cold of the books setting all add to the chills given by the story so far and this makes it a pretty intense read only from the preview.
