I'm a big fan of Nordic and Scandinavian Tv crime dramas, but too my knowledge haven't yet read an translation of an Swedish crime novel.

From this first impression, if it wasn't for the fact that it says so on the opening page I'm not sure I would have noticed it was an translation and not an original book.

Certainly this first impression starts filling you in on the main character and the setting straight away. In a range of short sharp sentances descriping the scenery and longer sentences describing protagonist Liv, it is drip feeding information to draw my attention.

That being said whilst it has really set up the scenery, and the blurb has done a good job of outlining the plot and hooking my attention, it seemed an little bit average,
It has potential but hasn't quite hooked me in fully in those initial 30 pages.
