Sort of interesting but a very slow start

Initially, I was quite excited to read this book and thought it would be quite a fast paced suspenseful thriller. The way it started did get me interested and I was looking forward to seeing where it would go. However, once I'd got through the first hundred or so pages, I was sadly disappointed by it. It just seemed very slow with not much happening and there was lots of jumping around between the different times, without giving you any reason or clarity for doing so. I actually ended up putting this book down and completely leaving it for ages because I just was not interested in it anymore.

I did eventually pick it back up again and tried to get back into it again and to finish it. Sadly, the plot didn't get any better for my liking. I felt there wasn't much character development and just lots of unanswered questions at the very end even when I'd finished the book. I felt there was more that could have been done with the changing timelines, and after reading the whole book I don't feel the changing timelines added anything at all to the story. Sadly, for me a disappointing read of a story that initially seemed quite exciting, but was definitely not.
