I enjoyed this book, but something about it meant I didn't love it in the way I thought I might.
Thanks to Reader's First for sending me an advance copy to review.
When Johnathon dies, his three children and partner are called to a solicitors office for the reading of the will. Unusually, the request is for the three children to agree the split of the estate, with the stipulation being that the funeral cannot be held until agreement is in place.
The children gather at the family home over a weekend to discuss how to split the estate, but arguments abound, and long held tensions come to the surface.
I felt much sympathy for the berieved partner, but found all of the children quite unlikeable. If this was the authors intention then well done!, but it didn't make me love the book in the way I wanted to.
I think this was a really interesting concept for a book, I just wish I'd liked more of the characters.
