Fun

I dont usually gravitate towards this kind of books but I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well written and I particularly enjoyed how the story was told from the perspectives of ruby, Joyce and Mick. The writing style was very compelling and easy to read despite being a debut novel which made my reading experience very enjoyable. The imagery was excellent and really felt like I was transported into the setting. I particularly enjoyed the tension created in the book and the reveal of what happened to Joyce. I thought that the authors inclusion of race highlighted the inequalities in what was considered a time of change. I was indeed refreshing to read about a diverse cast of characters.
Overall an excellent book I would definitely recommend to anyone even if thats not the genre you usually read. I am really looking forward to reading more books by this author.
