I'm not very experienced with the 50s, and there were definitely some culture shocks when I first started reading, however I adapted to the writing style pretty quickly. Also, I tend to struggle following along with books that are displayed in multiple points of view, however I feel that the characters remained fairly separated in the extract that I read. I like how the characters are such different people, also, and I feel that that is a major aspect of their separation, and it helped a lot.

I'm not sure why, but this book terrified me. Even after reading only a few pages, it seemed so two faced, and spooky. It's probably the fact that it was played off as being so carefree and breezy, as it was just a woman living her life who was on her period, but I always knew there were dark undertones, and to be honest, I was waiting for something to jump out at me.
