This had me hooked from the cover to the end. Set in 1927 and 1940 covering the beautiful island of St Kilda. Elisabeth describes in great detail the scenery of St Kilda that you feel like you are there with the characters. It draws you into the lives of Fred and Chrissie and how they lived so many years ago. You find yourself routing for them to first get together on the island of St Kilda and then for them to reunite in the years that pass that they aren't together. The perspective of the different characters and the trials and tribulations that they face throughout the years keeps you turning the pages to find out more. A beautifully written romantic love story that will take your breath away.
