From the opening of Walsh's novel it seems that what draws readers in is an underlying theme, the possibility of a successful second chance. Who doesn't hope that should something go wrong in their life they will be rewarded with something even better further down the line? The hope that this may be true is certainly what made me so invested in finding out what happens to the main character Sarah and her mysterious missing man.
