I didn’t like this book quite as much as I hope and I think that there was just too much hype about it. That said I was held in suspense for most of the story and the reason the man didn’t call was not as it first appeared (which is obviously the point but I was pleased that was the case!) This book starts as a whirlwind between the main characters Eddie and Sarah; a week of blossoming romance and love and then no phone call. It’s a classic story to begin with but it’s not all as it appears as we delve deeper.
I thought it was a good concept and as I said the reason Eddie didn’t call is not as expected. There are thriller elements but overall it’s fell a little flat in my expectations.
This is a story about romance, loss, tragedy and ultimately forgiveness and whilst not a lighthearted read it is a different take on the classic romance novel. I give it 3 stars
