This book stats of in the present day with a particularly gruesome murder. Apparently one of the characters (no other than the Attorney General) is expecting this to be connected to the past, but before we find out exactly what that could be, we are transported to a concentration camp in Germany in 1945, just as the war ended. Again this bit ends on a cliff hanger when someone from the British Secret Service turns up, looking for hidden Nazis.
Quick switch back to present times and another ex-secret agent. This time the chap in question find himself in danger of torture and death unless he hands over a flash drive.
The story is full of suspense, intrigue and action, right from the first page, and I am itching to learn more about the main character and his seemingly fatal encounter.
The way the different scenarios are so skillfully woven together involves the reader in a web of modern crime, history and just good old nerve tingling suspense!
