It took me a little while to get in to this one. It starts off with Charlie Priest, a ex-policeman now lawyer, getting a visit from a not so happy man looking for a USB stick. What Charlie tries to figure out is where it is, why this man thought he had it, and what is on it that is so important for someone to kill over it.
A few days later this man is identified as Miles when he is found brutally murdered.
Priest sets off on a mission to fill in the missing pieces after his business card is found on the clothing of Miles. The story line for this book is very well thought out. It is a bit slow in the middle as the investigations are taking place, but I would never have guessed the main plot. Kudos to the author for the way that he links the current events to those of the past.
I would highly recommend this book but perseverance is required.
