A tense Scottish mystery
This has all the makings of being a brilliantly tense Scottish thriller. Lexie Elliott builds up the tension perfectly even in the first few pages. Ailsa is a layered and compelling main character who I can't help but feel knows more about the house's secrets than she is letting on or is able to remember.
The author paints a picture of this part of rural Scotland as beautiful yet haunting, with dark secrets lurking, making it an apt setting for the mystery to unfold. I would definitely give this book a go!
