Gripped from the start
The first few pages of The Missing Years by Lexie Elliot are gripping and intriguing. My interest is definitely piqued by the creepy old Scottish Mansion full of shadows and secrets. The characters we have been introduced to seem well-developed and interesting. My first impression is that this book is atmospheric and beautifully written.
The idea that Ailsa only owns half of the house, and her father owns the other half (yet is missing) creates the suspense I crave in a novel such as this. Cannot wait to read on further.
