Alisa's mother passes away, and she inherits half of an old Scottish manor, deep in the countryside. She has deep buried memories of living in said home as a child. Randonly, these old memories surface, causing curiosity about her family history and the connection to the house.
For this, this was slow burning but that also kept me on my toes as I really wanted to know how things would work out. The story develops with Alisa being able to uncover parts of the family history. The characters introduced were intersting, and each played their own part. I believe the author did a great job in delivering a suspense atmosphere that had you wanting to read on!
I enjoyed the storyline, characters and mystery, however, the pace felt too slow at several points.
