A my title suggests, this seems to be like a well written and beautifully told true story. Yes a story of tragedy, war and hardship, but one that is told in a way that really tugs at the heart strings. Having a doctorate in history, anything with a historical method or genre is right up my street and I would really love to give this one a go!
