The courage of the author's Tante Helen and other 8 women in the book is hard to fathom. Stories of resistance and escape during the Nazi era are gruelling, but knowing that this is a true story of survival gives hope of some light and of the inspirational strength women can present in the darkest, most horrific circumstances. The opening is well written and drew me immediately into the account.
