Before reading this book I hadn’t actually heard of the people this book is based from. I’ve obviously read other books related to the Holocaust and Nazi germany, and they’re always been very interesting, however this is an exceptional book on the friendships and survival that took place during this time. This retelling is exceptionally breathtaking and it’s incredible to see the focus on how women helped during this period and survived too. Very heart warming and sad aspects too. I’d highly recommend this book, especially if you love books based on true stories and retellings. I’ve never read books by this author previously, however they’ve certainly peaked my interest and will be having a look at what else they have to offer. Certainly not enough books focusing on the women throughout history, their contributions, and their survival.
