I quite enjoyed 'The Nine.' The story was written very well and in detail, and the characters as well.
WWII is something that is highly talked about, especially the camps, however it is rare a book focuses on real people that survived the war, and lived many years after. Especially nine women.
The author gave a good insight into what being in the camps was like, telling the women's story in such a way that it felt like we were watching it with our own two eyes.
I like how she also involved the families and descendants of the nine women, who narrated about how their mothers, sisters and aunts were like, how they were impacted by the war, and the trauma they suffered.
I really appreciated how the author dug into the nine women's stories, their identities and nicknames, what they did to spend the time in the camps...
The part about how children were taken away from the mothers soon after birth, and sometimes called, genuinely broke my heart, and so did the story of little France who thankfully was reunited with her mum.

A great book about WWII. I really recommend it.
