This book is written by the niece of one of the survivors. It is a true story of how nine women were imprisoned in Nazi Germany during World War two. The nine women were resistance fighters during the war who got caught by the Nazis and sent to a concentration camp. The story explains how they were all involved in the resistance, how they were captured, what experiences they had in the concentration camp and how they eventually manged to escape.
The book is written as partly research trail and part reconstruction. Each of the women have a chapter dedicated to them and their story.
Some parts of the book are harrowing to read in places.
The book takes you through their journey of how they came they came to be together and what it took for them to survive.
I like how the book explains what happened to them after their escape and how they coped with normal life.
A good read that it is told well.
