Great concept of seeing the killer reading the victim's book

A book within a book is a good concept, and one that worked well here. I must admit I was more interested in the The Nothing Man’s point of view, but it was still interesting to learn about his old attacks. I loved seeing his reactions to reading what Eve wrote in her book and how that made him act in his day-to-day life. I did guess what would happen near the end, but there were a still a couple of twists I did not see coming which were good reveals, one of which tied things up nicely.

I knocked a star off as I got a bit confused with all the names and places throughout the story. Additionally I’m still a little hazy about the timeline of when the crimes actually occurred in relation to his life/age. I’d have preferred a little more story in the present too, it would have been especially good to find out what Eve was up to.

Overall, this was riveting read which kept me turning the pages until the end in one sitting. I also thought the key message was poignant too, we should remember all the victims’ names over the killer’s names.
