This was a bit of a twist on the usual thriller as we follow the killer rather than anyone else. We know exactly who he is as he is the protagonist, so we see his life through his eyes - we see his family life and his murderer life. While reading this I thought "wow, this really reminds me of I'll Be Gone in the Dark" and then I got to the end where the author credits the book as her inspiration. That is my all-time favourite true crime book (pick it up if you enjoyed this) so that was ncie to read, as it made it feel a bit more real. Which, weirdly, I like in a creepy thriller! I really enjoyed how real this felt - Eve Black's book felt like a real true crime memoir and while I felt the ending could have been stronger, this was certainly a 4/5 with a great concept and a gripping plot, and a great cover too - it's bright and stands out in the mystery and crime genre!
