The main character, Tom Killgannon, creates an air of mystery right from the very beginning when it is made clear to the reader that Tom isn't all that he appears to be and that he has a dark past that he has attempted to escape from. Toms life gets even more complicated when he becomes involved with a mysterious girl named Lila. However the appearance of Lila, a teenage runaway, brings with it even more mystery as she appears to be in hiding from members of a travellers commune. Why exactly is she being hunted by members of the commune? and what is their involvement in a case involving a missing student? And more importantly what is really going on within the commune that makes Tom willing to risk his true identity in order to help Lila?
There are so many twists and turns in the storyline that it made it very difficult for me to put the book down! I absolutely loved this book and its mysteriousness held me captivated throughout the whole book.
