I normally quite like split perspective technique as it's a wonderful way to fully immerse a reader into the world within the pages of the book but this was kind of lost on me in this one. I found Augusta to be quirky and interesting and I loved reading her parts and found her to be a very likable character. Parfait, for me, I don't know, I never really fell for him and often found myself skimming his chapters (an awful thing, I know!). This said, I loved how Joanna Glen blended the two stories together and how, even at the very beginning, the switching perspectives blended into each other with such fluidity. I just think that this book wasn't for me unfortunately.
Although all opinions in this review are my own, I would like to thank The Borough Press and Readers First for an advance copy of this novel.
