This was the first book that I have read by this author so I was unsure what to expect. The extract sounded intriguing and so I gave it a go. I am so glad that I did! It had me hooked from the very first page right until the twisty turns ending that I did not predict. I enjoyed the range of characters in this book, they felt well defined and realistic to me, drawing me in to a terrifying tale. Never really knowing what was real and what was a truly frightening fantasy. The setting of Cornwall, and later Brittany was created beautifully, it was as though I could hear the waves crash and feel the breeze against my skin. This, though, was in contrast to the house itself, in each setting. With all the futuristic fixtures and fittings, steel shutters to keep you secure or keep you in, and cameras watching your every move, for security, of course! Is the one you trust more than anyone else the one.you should fear the most? Brilliantly terrifying!!
