I haven't read the first book in the series but this didn't make any difference to understanding the characters and their relationships. I thought this was an excellent page turner. It was full of twists and turns all the way through. I thought I had guessed the outcome about half way through but was wrong.
The story centres around Sophie a reporter who is trying to get a story about a woman who is found murdered. What happens is a very complex tale that involves the people close to her. There is definitely developing relationships that will be carried on to the next book. I enjoyed the pace of the book and the characters seemed very real. I will have to read the first one though because that one sounds just as exciting. A recommended read.
