Creepy, mysterious and somewhat addictive

I’m generally a massive wimp and not one to pick up creepy or scary books. However, the premise of The Possession was too good to walk away from.

Overall, this was a good book. The plot holds your attention and the mystery keeps you gripped and on the edge of your seat until you’ve come to a finish. The twists and turns were clever and thought through. The characters are sound and well-developed, and I was invested in what happens to them. The language at times fell a bit short, though it did keep up the tense creepiness until the end.

I think the comparison to Stephen King set my bar slightly too high, so I came into this with expectations possibly too high. However, it’s a good story and kept my attention.
