I haven't read anything remotely close to what this book describes itself as and I think done correctly it could be one of the best books in a long time. The section I've read leaves a lot for me to think about and had me intrigued from the start. A matriarchal society isn't something I've seen very often so I'd be excited to see what path this would take.
