I don't know how to word this review without it seeming hateful, however that is the exact word I will use to describe this book. It is very full of hatred, anger and violence, half the time for little to no reason? There were several occasions I find myself wondering what on earth I was reading.

I believe that the Quickening began as a progressive and potentially powerful idea, and then this became very lost in translation as the author got more into writing. I ended up doing my research on this author to wonder what may have encourage this writing style, which I recommend anyone who is going to read this book does do as it makes far more sense once you see who she was married too.

Once again, another book that mentions the virus on 2020 as if we haven't already seen enough of viruses, so definitely not an escape from the current pandemic if that is what you are looking for.

It reads as a rip off 1984, so if you enjoyed that book maybe you will like this one? The characters and plot both needed work, although I loved the style of the pages and the fact it is a floppy book.
