The Saracen's Mark is a fun historical thriller that romps along and is very easy to read. I love novels set in this time period and admire the amount of research that the author did to try and capture what it would have been like to live in that time. In particular, Perry writes in detail about smells which is certainly helps set the time and place. The characters are interesting and I wanted to follow them on their journey. The overall plot is good and kept me wanting to know more. This is a good further instalment of the series, this novel being the third. Perry has had plenty of time with the characters over the last two books and it shows in this novel as they feel like real people. Would read the next one.
